I can’t help but think of Isaiah 5:20 as I hear so called “tolerant” people chastising Christians for their beliefs. Christians are continuously lampooned for standing in opposition to abortion and same sex marriage, but did you know that Christians are also in opposition to lying, stealing, blaspheme, (you can insert any of the 10 commandments here) Christians aren’t standing in judgment of those that choose to live that way of life, in fact, we also have sinned.
The difference is that a real Christian has come to understand and believe that God created this world, therefore He owns it and if He owns it, He makes the laws. We realize that we broke His laws therefore we needed redemption which is offered freely by Jesus Christ and Him only. Once salvation from sin has happened with the believer, they will naturally start to hate sin. They will hate the things they use to love and love the things they use to hate. They will love more than they’ve ever loved before, they will even love those that hate them.
Christians do not hate homosexuals. In fact, Christians love them enough to tell them the truth about Jesus as He is found in the Bible. Now when I say Christians, I’m not speaking about groups like the Westboro cult which is full of hate, neither am I speaking of the many churches that are “gay friendly” with gay clergy and such. They may seem loving, but if they believe that all sinners will have their part in the lake of fire, how little love for the sinner would you have to have in order to not want to warn people about the consequences of sin. Don’t be fooled, they don’t love them! They are either ignorant of what the Bible says or they are lovers of themselves and couldn’t care less of this lost and dying world. When I say Christian, I’m speaking of born again believers that have been born of the Spirit. You’ll know a real Christian by what they do. For example, they love homosexuals, and they will love them enough to serve them, but they will love them enough to tell them why they will not cater to their sin.
This past week, a family owned pizza parlour was lambasted for standing on Christian principles. The media quickly jumped on the bandwagon and the frenzy quickly became hostile. The owners couldn’t even go to work because they feared for their lives. Death threats came in, people tweeted about getting together to burn the place down, etc. And this was from the so called “tolerant” people. Below is an excerpt from the Blaze, a news service which actually reported the facts.
When asked by local press the hypothetical question of whether or not they’d prefer to have their family owned business, Memories Pizza, cater a gay wedding, the owner said no citing their own religious beliefs as the reason.
Rather than allowing this family to simply have their opinion, which they were asked to give, outraged people grabbed the torches and began a campaign to destroy this small business in small town Indiana.
All for having an opinion that is rooted in faith.
No one was turned away. No one was discriminated against. It was a hypothetical question asked by a news reporter who had questionable motives to begin with.
After being interviewed by Dana Loesch on her television show on Blaze TV, we learned that the family may never even reopen the doors to their restaurant as the death threats and vicious online reviews continue to pour in from the arbiters of “tolerance.”
This family is under attack, a Go Fund Me Page has been set up to help them out. Check it out here: Memories Pizza
